This policy informs members how the PSSA uses the data that it collects and stores on members.
PSSA holds records of a member’s name, address, date and place of birth, mobile and landline
phone numbers, e-mail addresses and FAC/SGC numbers, in paper and electronic formats.
Photographic data of each member is held for identification purposes. This information is used to
communicate safety, organisational and subscription issues to members.
This data is never sold or released to third parties, with the exceptions detailed in the following
paragraphs.
The Club is obliged by Home Office Regulation and Firearms Legislation to advise the Police of the
details of any individual who applies for membership of the club or whose attendance falls below
Home Office guidelines. This information includes Name, Address, Date and Place of Birth and FAC
number, for current holders. PSSA is required to record attendance, including which firearms are
used (serial numbers) for each individual member, annually.
These records are kept for a minimum of six years and may be paper based initially but processed
electronically.
The Club uses software, provided by a third party, to process some of the data described above,
firearm details excepted. The Club purchases and is licensed to use this software. The data may be
held electronically outside of the UK but within the appropriate Data Privacy Framework Programme
that the UK is a signatory to.
The Club is required to obtain explicit consent to hold and process information held on individual
members. It must share some of the information in the ways outlined but does not do so otherwise.
The Club uses CCTV in the Range House and its environs for the purposes of Crime prevention
and detection. Digital images are stored for a maximum of three months then overwritten.
